Flexi-Scan Classic
FSC03YYX00 - A cost efficient, simple to
install and easy to operate proximity reader for single doors,
the Flexi-Scan Classic controls the opening of one door from
both the inside and the outside. Programmed manually, the
unit is Tag validated, and remains on duty twenty- four hours
a day, 365 days a year. It can be linked to a computer for
increased ease of use and sophistication, for example, to
record names and status of the users. Except for metal, the
Flexi-Scan Classic can read through any building material
and is particularly suited to installations such as apartment
blocks and homes, when one door has to be controlled.

Technical Specifications
-
Processor: 16 MHz 80C51 CPU
-
Memory: Non-volatile memory (EEPROM). Can store up to 2000 tags
-
Power Requirements: Excluding door latch & battery. Main
Input:13 V to 16 V AC 13 V to 16 V DC ± 200 mA Battery
Input: 8 V to 22 V DC± 200 mA Battery option: add
600 mA (Maximum charge) (see "Battery charger")
-
Relay Output: (SPDT) rated at 1,5 A 30 V DC / 250 V AC. The drive
time can be set to remain activated for 0,1 to 60 seconds
after valid code. Default is 2 seconds.
-
RS232C Compatible: Data is communicated at 9600 Baud, 8 bit, no
parity, 1 stop bit.
-
Communication: The computer communication link (RS232) is used
for up- loading from, or downloading the data into, the
Flexi-Scan Classic's non-volatile memory and transferring
tag code data from the Flexi-Scan Classic to a computer
for reporting.
-
Status: Indicated by three light emitting diodes. One indicates
‘Power on / Present Tag', the second diode lights up on
receipt of a valid code, 'Access Allowed', whilst the
third diode lights up on 'Access Denied'. Supervisor tag
causes both the 'Present Tag' and 'Access Allowed' to
light up.
-
Reading Distances: The distance between the passive tag and the
readers is approximately 100 mm from the coils (in base
of cabinet) but depends on the type of tags used. Card
/ ID type tags read slightly further than the button type.
-
Operating Environment: Temperature Range: - 10°C to +70°C
-
Humidity Range: 0 - 95% non-condensing.
-
Dimensions: L = 161 mm, B = 90 mm, H = 45 mm
-
Positioning: Simple as most materials have no effect on performance.
However, the unit should not be mounted on or adjacent
to any metallic surface including steel reinforcing rods.
Screw holes are provided in reader base.
-
Coil Frequency: 281250 Hz or 125000 Hz
-
Battery Charger: Incorporated in the Flexi-Scan Classic to maintain
12 V 0.5 to 6.8 Ah lead-acid gel batteries, with internal
current limiting and thermal shutdown, and will supply
a maximum of 600 mA, at 13.5 V. It also includes circuitry
to prevent severe battery discharge due to prolonged mains
power failure, by shutting down the Flexi-Scan Classic
before battery damage occurs. The back-up time depends
on the capacity of the (separately located) battery, and
can be from a few hours to days.
-
Approvals: Conforms to CE Standards.
Optional Extras:
FSP01GB: Flexi-Scan Dos Software for PC
FSW01: RS232 Cable (1 metre) for connection
to PC
